Where We Are NowCTC is a long term and cyclical process. As a more mature mobilization process we now have activities taking place in several of the five phases. In 2006, we completed our second community assessment. We completed our third community assessment in 2008. Communities That Care Squamish is a mobilization project aimed at preventing five youth health and behavior problems (teen pregnancy, substance abuse, violence, delinquency and school drop out). Communities That Care Squamish (CTC) exists to create a vibrant, healthy community. We create opportunities for people to learn how to be strong, healthy individuals and families. CTC is available because people in the community work together to make it happen. Since 1998, CTC has worked with a broad group of community stakeholders to assess the levels of risk and protection in our community. Based on the community's needs and efforts, the Strengthening Families Program is now in its ninth cycle. The High/Scope educational approach is now operating at three pre-schools in Squamish. Additional promising approaches are being implemented at regular intervals. The Communities That Care Operating System uses a five-phase process.
